AC Lifting transports and lifts boats across the UK. Whether you need to move a cruiser from your drive to the lake, a yacht between marinas, a dealer-handover boat to the customer’s garden, or a seasonal lift-in / lift-out at your home mooring, we handle the HIAB, the transport and the placement.
What we move

How a boat move works
- We confirm dimensions, weight and lifting points from you or the dealer.
- Access is surveyed at both ends — pick-up and destination — by photo, video or in person.
- Boat is slung or cradled for the lift, transported on our HIAB lorry, and placed at destination.
- For water launching we position as close to the slipway as access allows and co-ordinate with the marina or landowner.
For boatyards, marinas & dealers
We run a dedicated partner service for boatyards, marinas and boat dealers. Seasonal lift-in / lift-out, dealer handovers, stock moves between sites — if you move boats often and want a single delivery partner to handle the lifting, let’s talk.
Common questions
Can you move a boat from my house to a lake?
Yes — that’s one of our regular residential jobs. We lift the boat off its drive or trailer, transport it on our HIAB, and lift it into the water at the launch point. Price depends on distance and boat size.
Do you launch boats into the water?
Where access allows, yes. Our HIAB can set up on a hard standing or slipway and crane the boat in. For some sites we’ll co-ordinate with the marina’s own launch facilities if those suit the boat better.
How much does boat transport cost?
Depends on boat weight, distance, time on site and whether lifting is required at both ends. Shorter moves cost considerably less than long-distance deliveries. We quote against your specific boat and route.
Can you move multiple boats on the same run?
Usually no — most of our trucks handle one boat at a time for safe lifting. For trade clients with multiple boats we’ll plan a sequence of moves at a discounted repeat-job rate.
