Machinery Moves & Installation
Plant, machinery and industrial equipment moved UK-wide. Loaded, transported, placed, levelled.

Machinery Moves & Installation
Relocating plant, installing new equipment, repositioning a line inside a live factory — machinery moves need a contractor who can handle transport, rigging, precise placement and the timing pressure of a production environment. AC Lifting does all four, UK-wide, from our Preston operational base.
What we move and install
- CNC machines, presses and fabrication equipment.
- Packaging, bottling and food-production lines.
- Industrial generators, transformers and distribution kit.
- Construction and site plant moved between depots or projects.
- Laboratory, medical and research equipment requiring careful handling.
How we handle a machinery move
- Survey. We walk the site at both ends — access, doors, floor loadings, obstacles, overheads.
- Plan. Lift plan, rigging plan, sequence of moves if multiple pieces are going.
- Transport. Right-size HIAB or low-loader with rigging kit.
- Install. Placement to spec — onto pads, levelling as required, alignment where needed.
- Sign-off. Method statement signed off, everything left tidy.
Out-of-hours and weekend moves
Most factory relocations happen out of hours to avoid disrupting production. We’re happy to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and co-ordinate with your millwrights, electricians and commissioning engineers. Tell us your window and we’ll build the plan around it.
Common questions
Can you move a full production line?
Yes — we’ve moved multi-piece lines with sequenced de-installation, transport and re-installation. On complex jobs we work alongside your own engineers or a specialist millwright so nothing arrives at the new site out of sequence.
Do you handle decommissioning and recommissioning?
We handle the lift, transport and placement. Power disconnection, recommissioning and calibration are usually done by your OEM or millwright — but we’ll co-ordinate the schedule with them so the move runs smoothly.
Can you move machinery inside a building?
Yes, with skates, toe jacks, Versa-lifts and rigging kit suited to the machine. We’ll survey the route first to confirm floor loadings, door widths and ceiling clearances.
Is this a contract lift?
Most machinery moves are booked as contract lifts because of the complexity and the value of the equipment. We plan the lift, run it, sign it off.
