AC Lifting isn’t a standalone mobile crane hire company — we operate HIAB-mounted lorries (lorry-loader cranes) and deliver crane-assisted lifting as part of a managed transport and lift service. For most jobs that people describe as “crane hire” — moving a container, placing a cabin, lifting a generator or plant over a fence — a HIAB is faster, cheaper and doesn’t need a separate haulier. Frequently asked questions
Can you lift a mini digger over a house?
Usually yes — 1-3 tonne mini diggers are well within HIAB lift range on most reaches. Send a site photo or drop pin and we’ll confirm reach, ground conditions and safe lift zone.
Do you handle CNC and machine tool installs?
Yes. We move CNC machines, press brakes, lathes and fabrication kit — delivery, rigging into position, placement onto levelling pads. For installs into workshops with tight access we’ll often combine HIAB drop-off with machine skates or toe-jacks for the final metres.
Can you do regular hire fleet moves?
Yes — plant hire companies are a core customer type. Set up an account with us and we’ll handle scheduled delivery and collection work UK-wide, with the fastest mobilisation across the North West.
Do you have beavertails for tracked plant?
Our HIAB lorries are flatbed and crane-based — for most plant under our lift limit we lift straight off the deck. For larger tracked machines that need to be driven on/off, we’ll partner or sub-contract with a beavertail operator to keep the job efficient.
