How we work with fabricators
Collect from the fabricator’s yard, transport to the construction site, lift into position ready for steel erectors to bolt up. Where site access is tight or loads need placing to first floor or above, we plan the lift with you in advance — reach, weight, ground conditions, banksman requirements.

AC Lifting isn’t a standalone mobile crane hire company — we operate HIAB-mounted lorries (lorry-loader cranes) and deliver crane-assisted lifting as part of a managed transport and lift service. For most jobs that people describe as “crane hire” — moving a container, placing a cabin, lifting a generator or plant over a fence — a HIAB is faster, cheaper and doesn’t need a separate haulier. Frequently asked questions
Can you deliver and lift beams onto a first-floor level?
Often yes — depends on weight, reach and ground conditions. Send drawings or an approx weight and site photos and we’ll spec a truck with the right tonne/metre capacity.
Can you run a contract lift for steel erection?
Yes — we offer contract lifts with method statement, risk assessment and Appointed Person oversight. If you want a fully managed lift rather than CPA hire, ask for a contract lift quote.
Do you carry certification for lifting accessories?
Yes — all our chains, slings, shackles and lifting eyes are LOLER-inspected and certification is available on request.
Do you move architectural and bespoke pieces?
Yes — feature staircases, bespoke handrails, fabricated letters and art pieces, heritage metalwork. Tell us the weight, dimensions and finish sensitivity and we’ll plan packing and slinging accordingly.
